Bob Snead is a native of Charleston, SC where he founded Redux Contemporary Art Center in 2002. After receiving his MFA from Yale University School of Art in painting and printmaking in 2007, he helped form the traveling artist collective Transit Antenna and spent the next two years developing community based art projects across North America. He was named a distinguished alumnus of the College of Charleston in 2011 for his extensive work with non-profit arts organizations and then again in 2016 for his ambitious artistic practice. Since 2010, he has lived and worked in New Orleans, helping grow Antenna in various capacities, in addition to founding the Platforms Fund, directing the 2013 Hand-in-Glove Conference, and assisting with the development of Common Field, the national service organization for artist centric projects and spaces.
